Our favourite watering hole and possibly the best pub in NZ! Locals and tourist mix together, great restaurant and excellent beer. Lovely views over Otago Harbour and a busy beer garden in the summer. Highly recommended.
Outstanding wildlife tours to a remote beach which is home to a large population of Sea-Lions, Fur Seals and the very rare Yellow-eyed Penguin. Very knowledgeable tour guides. Great care is taken to minimise visitor impact on the wildlife. Highly recommended.
The only mainland site in the world where you can see the magnificent Royal Albatross, including seasonal viewing of nesting birds. Lots of interesting information, a cafe and giftshop.
A local ferry service that runs from Portobello to Port Chalmers. Counter intuitively it is often worth making the trip on cruise ship days as lots of art and market stalls run in Port Chalmers at these times. There are also wildlife cruises available on request.
Our nearest cafe, farmstore and kitchen on a neighbour's property. It's possible for guests at Possums' End to walk through our forest to this cafe without going on any roads. Preserves are a speciality.
